Chief Secretary Dhand visited OP Jindal Community College Punjipathra and Raigarh Livelihood College (RLC) this week along with Secretary Revenue Shri Pisda, District Additional Secretary Smt. Sharma, Collector Smt. A Mangai D, Police Superintendent Dr. Shukla, and Additional Collector Shri Dhabre. He interacted with students in their classrooms and workshops at both vocational training locations and was pleased to find out over 2000 were trained in 14 different trades under the State’s MMKVY and national PMKVY schemes this year. By offering high-quality infrastructure and market-demand training in construction, mechanical, electrical, and service trades such as security services, hospitality, beauty and wellness, and AC repair, OPJCC students have achieved an 80% job placement rate. Shri Dhand was glad to know that OPJCC is training females in masonry, plumbing, and industrial painter trades who are now in the workforce as certified, skilled tradespersons.
OPJCC is the official training partner at RLC, an all-female training center located near the Raigarh Collectorate. While there, the Chief Secretary talked to household services and security guard trainees. He appreciated the breadth of training, including basic etiquette, personality development, communication skills, and conservation of water and electricity. Asst. Director-CSSDA Mr. Jain stated that many female students come from areas where human trafficking is high. CS Dhand appreciated that the rights of household workers and self-defense were being taught. He stated that he will try to establish a law to protect household workers in CG. He was equally pleased to find out that former RLC students are now working in Raipur. Incidentally, OPJCC job placement opportunities are pan-India and international.
