Jindal Steel & Power Limited Chairman and Parliamentarian, the Honorable Naveen Jindal understands the critical role that education and training plays in strengthening India's economy. Embodying his father's legacy, Mr. Jindal, a visionary, industrialist, and philanthropist, is spearheading the community college movement in India. Similarly, a skilled technician is one who is able to meet the performance expectations stated by the job market." OP Jindal Community College was established to develop skilled, technically competent individuals to meet the demands of a changing global workforce.

Under Mr. Jindal's guidance, OPJCC is flourishing and making an impact in rural India. OPJCC, a not-for-profit, privately funded industrial training center has five colleges located in Punjipathra in Chhattisgarh, Angul and Barbil in Odisha, and Patratu and Godda in Jharkhand. OPJCC provides affordable, flexible, high quality vocational education and practical training to enhance employability of underprivileged youths. Nurturing potential and talent towards excellence, the college enrolls school drop-outs and unemployed youths interested in gaining marketable skills in construction and mechanical trades. Holistic education and training comprising technical, workplace and life skills as well as on-the-job training and skills upgrading ensure that learners are job ready. Additional programmes targeting young women are in the pipeline.
